Art Gallery of Alberta Grand Opening in Edmonton!

The anticipation is almost over. The brand spankin' new Art Gallery of Alberta is opening on January 31st and free tickets go on sale January 18th at noon on the Gallery's website. Talk about a fabulous date night. Call up your beau or a sexy gent/lady and invite him or her for dinner and a romantic walk through the exhibit. Do it. I said so.

The Gallery's futuristic shell, designed by L.A. architect Randall Stout, is a welcome new artistic landmark to Edmonton's downtown wasteland. I can't wait to "see inside" the four-floors of the new whimsical construction. The opening shows will feature a variety of Canadian artists including photographer Yousuf Karsh who has taken portraits of Andy Warhol, Albert Einstein and Audrey Hepburn.

I also heard through word-of-mouth, but can't seem to find much information on it, that there will be three new eateries in the Gallery including a high-end restaurant called Zinc, a cafe and an espresso bar. Sounds good to me. You can never have enough restaurants.

See you there!!
