1 Dress. 365 Days.

For lack of better adjectives... this is SO cool!!! New Yorker Sheena Matheiken has set off on an unbelievable journey in what she is calling "sustainable fashion". She is wearing the same dress, every day, for an entire year. Every day she uses accessories and various layers to make her outfit look completely different from the day before, even though she's wearing the exact same, plain, black frock. This is truly a feat to be admired.

You can view Sheena's daily outfit at theuniformproject.com, and I have to say I'm truly amazed at her creativity. Something else to admire? This project is also a year-long fundraiser for the Akanksha Foundation, which funds childhood education in India. On her website, Sheena describes her days as a young student in India, where she had to wear a uniform every day.

"Despite the imposed conformity, kids always found a way to bend the rules and flaunt a little personality. Boys rolled up their sleeves, wore over-sized swatches, and hiked up their pants to show off their high-tops. Girls obsessed over bangles, bindis and bad hairdos. Peaking through the sea of uniforms were the idiosyncrasies of teen style and individual flare. "

So, next time you're standing in your closet, whining that you "have nothing to wear", check out Sheena's latest look of the day for some inspiration.
