It's all in the fit.

This GQ fashion spread with Gossip Girl villain Ed Westwick came out back in Fall 2009. Whoever did the styling paid incredible attention to the contrast of textures and patterns, but most importantly - the fit of the clothes. Each piece looks like it was sewn right onto Westwick's body.

This is a crucial tip for men. You could be wearing the most expensive suit, by the most world renowned designer, in the best quality of fabric and if it doesn't fit properly, it'll look like shit. One of the worst mistakes I see in jackets and shirts on men is sagging shoulders.

Here's the rule - if the shoulder seam doesn't sit right where your shoulder ends, it needs to be tailored. I often see men wearing shirts and jackets with the seam falling over the edge of their shoulders making them look frumpy. If you were willing to spend the money on the suit, spend a little extra and get it tailored. You'll be happy you did when you see how flattering it is to your shape.

Damn Ed looks good. Yum.
