Review on The Body Shop's Camomile Gentle Eye Make-Up Remover.

After reading tons of glowing reviews in magazines and listening to recommendations from friends and Internet beauty gurus, I finally spent the $14.50 and tried The Body Shop's famed eye make-up remover. Shockingly, I don't have one good thing to say about this product.

Firstly, the packaging is terrible. The bottle has a gaping mouth, so you can't control how much product spills out and the packaging in general isn't that hygienic.

The remover itself reeks of alcohol, comparable to nail polish remover. It's supposed to be a "gentle" formula, but alcohol is the eighth ingredient listed, which is fairly high. Almost all make-up removers on the market contain alcohol, but usually in smaller quantities.

It removed my makeup, but not without leaving the skin around my eyes stinging. The irritation only lasted a couple minutes, but it was definitely not an indication of a "gentle" product. I don't consider myself someone with sensitive skin, so I'm not sure why it had this effect on me.

After trying it for three days, I decided to return it. The Body Shop staff were super friendly and kindly refunded me my money. I'll stick with my Almay Eye-Makeup Remover from now on.
