My sleeping-in-lifesaver-bestest-friend.

I have finally discovered it. The product that allows me to hit the snooze button three too many times. The secret to making my hair colour last longer than a season of Jersey Shore. The tool that lets me wake up 20 minutes before I have to be at work, and breeze through the door looking purposely polished. What could be so miraculous that I am insisting every person reading this run to their local drugstore immediately to purchase it? Klorane's Extra Gentle Dry Shampoo with Oat Extract.

After trying a variety of dry shampoos, and returning products all over the city (I'm sure my face is taped up behind a counter somewhere) I finally found one that actually worked!

For someone like me with fine and thin hair, this product is a serious revelation. Without it, I could never get away without washing my hair every day. And of course we all know that over-washing is super drying and damaging to the hair, especially when paired with blow drying and straightening or curling. And if you have coloured hair, you basically watch all that dye spiral down the drain every morning.

Klorane's Dry Shampoo comes in an aerosol and non-aerosol canister. I purchased a 150 mL aerosol can at Shopper's Drug Mart for $14.99 CAD. I use it on days I've overslept and don't have time to shower, or days when I just want to save my hair from another torture session with the blow dryer. I spray the product directly into my roots, leave for two minutes and brush out. The powder absorbs all the oil from my hair, leaves my 'do looking fresh and even replenishes volume.

The only down side to the product is its white colour. Klorane does not sell a darker coloured dry shampoo for people with brown or black hair, or anything for our sassy redheaded friends. I do notice once I've brushed the shampoo out, my hair is slightly lighter, but nothing too noticeable.

So there it is. My "dirty" little secret. It's now your beauty secret. You're welcome.

  1. Always wondered about dry shampoo, but never tried it! I'm inspired now! I dry out my hair with over washing, so I'll have to give this a shot.

Thanks for the review! (And great writing!)

Baby Powder works too...for those on a tight budget.

  3. I've also hear cornstarch works really well!

I really like the spray can though because if is easy to apply in all the rights spots.

Thanks for your comment! xo
