SOS Fest 2011

Cars took a detour yesterday as two blocks of Edmonton's Whyte Avenue were closed off to make room for drum beats, dancing feet, merch galore and so much more. It was the second annual SOS Music Festival!

Nine local bands performed Sunday afternoon to a sea of happy, head-bobbing music lovers from tots with painted faces to hipsters with tacky neon sunnies. It was a fabulous day spent mingling with my community to support local businesses and artists.
Gobble Gobble...I was mostly just confused. The crowd loved it though!
The day's best act - Wool on Wolves. A charming  folk/rock set that even earned an encore!
Cutely dressed hipsters enjoying the music. Music breeds fashion.
The new love of my life.
Appropriate, but fashionable attire.
Time for a break from the street and a refreshment in the heat. Unfortunately Black Dog's Wooftop Patio is some kind of time warp portal... an hour and a half went by and I missed half the musical acts!
A truly unique performance from Little Miss Higgins who crooned out some old-timey country Patsy Cline would be proud of.
Furry friends everywhere!!
Wild in the streets! Another great SOS Music Festival - that's a wrap!

  1. This looks like so much fun. Do you have a french bulldog?! I am terribly jealous if so, because I have been campaigning to get one for months now :)
