MC College sneak peek from designer Jericho Cender.

Opening Night - Thursday, September 22
Lights. Camera. Fashion. Western Canada Fashion Week launches with the M.C. College student collections. Ten budding designers from Edmonton's MC College Design Program will show their first collections - eight pieces each - a huge achievement for any young designer. I was lucky enough to catch a sneak peek of some of the collections and promise you won't be disappointed.

Designers to watch for : Arlee Stewart, Nicole Campre and Jericho Cender.

Boyfriend refuses to come to fashion week? Tell him there's a swimwear line.

Other favourites of the evening include Malorie Urbanovitch who will present her eagerly anticipated collection after  an outstanding show last spring,  as well as Trisha Pasnak who designs detailed, fantasy-like gowns full of texture and glamour.

Perhaps the best night of Western Canada Fashion Week. Be there or you are definitely square. Local darling Alisha Schick will present her label, Suka Designs - always edgy, wearable and incredibly hip.

Feminine details paired with structured silhouettes are Genette Salgado's signature and after the WCFW Fall 2011 preview it appears she will continue with this vision.

This is your last chance to take in Fashion Week, meet fabulous people, sip a cocktail and celebrate what is sure to be the best WCFW to date. Anticipated collections of the night include Serendipity, which is always charming, elegant and vintage-chic and Beverly Gan whom I'm particularly curious about with her origami-inspired, structured garments.
