Western Canada Fashion Week Spring 2012

Tonight, Western Canada Fashion Week will dim its lights for another season.  Hits and misses walked the runway, but the last few evenings have truly showcased the strong talent and vision of some of our local designers. Our neighbouring city, Calgary, set a stiletto-high standard with well tailored collections from labels Bano eeMee, MaNoKin and Dionne Dionne. More buyers than ever before from Edmonton's indie boutiques were out this season scattered across the front row, and it was apparent many of the Calgary designs were catching their eye.

Team Edmonton highlights included adorable, retro inspired silhouettes from Trisha Pasnak, an elegant and sophisticated collection from designer Derek Jagodzinsky of LUXX, and a sleek and professional show of streamlined silhouettes and colours from Malorie Urbanovitch.
