losing the loft. keeping the 82.

On Thursday evening, Edmonton's darling Loft 82 invited guests to celebrate the opening of its new location - an airy space almost triple the size of its previous home.

Still located on Whyte Avenue, the women's clothing store continues to represent the "82" but no longer the "loft" in its name. The new street-level spot sits right across from Bamboo Ballroom on 104th Street and is sure to draw more traffic with a large storefront on the Ave's most bustling corner.

Pastels, pleats and lace abounding, the store is the blushing sweetheart of partner store Oak + Fort - known for edited, monochromatic and more masculine apparel. The duo has become a favourite among Edmontonians, specifically the city's young hipsters who love the flowing silhouettes and private-school collars.

Great event and great store. I'm feeling mucho grateful these days for the beautiful boutiques in my beloved Strathcona 'hood.

Represent 82 but not the loft? So is it just called 82 now?
